We have been working with Arnau Caballero, artist known on Instagram also as “Knight” for some years. Originally from Gavà (Barcelona), he started making art as a teenager although he was also interested in other hobbies and nowadays, at 23 years old, his signature can’t be missing in any of his designs. We have contacted him for this interview so that you can get to know him better.

What are your hobbies? I have always had many different hobbies. Personalisation was originally one of them, nowadays I would say gym, creating or mixing music and football.

Any quote that always motivated you? A few years ago, I saw an ad for sneakers, they talked about not giving up when what you were doing seemed silly or crazy to others. “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.” I have it framed in the studio.

A place you’d like to travel to but you haven’t yet? Indonesia.

Something always helped to recharge energy? Spend time with my beloved ones, to travel and eat.

What inspires you to design your creations? I guess that like any artist, inspiration comes from a thousand different places, within everything that surrounds you. Each one sees inspiration in some things that pass others by.

Favorite colors? Although I love the vivid and saturated ones, definitely the pastel colors.

Could you list your personal 3 must-have products from the Sneaker Care range? The black and white colors, two paints that are always in every customization I do, along with the new brushes that work and adapt well for any type of design. About the finishers, I would say that they are the icing on the cake to finish a customization.

Sneaker models or other favorite objects to customize? Of course, the Air Force 1 or the Jordan 1, there are no better canvases for any kind of customization.

What promped you to dedicate yourself to the world of customization? I had always liked to draw, my uncle collects Sneakers, and I guess the evolution and testing of new canvases, led me to what I do for a living now.

How long does it usually take you to design and customize? In designing it depends on how inspired I am eitherway how clear I have the design or colors to make the mock-ups, about 1-2 hours if I’m more or less clear-headed.

What product would you recommend to apply before starting to customize? Although they recommend using the preparer, I ALWAYS make sure to use Sneakers Deglazer for safety. And for very pronounced base color changes, I usually use Penetrating DYE.

Would you like to customize other types of garments or accessories? It never hurts to change canvas, really, but since I’ve already customized quite a few things other than sneakers, new things are always welcome.

Any advice for young people that want to dedicate themselves to customization? I don’t want to fall into the “cliché” of don’t try to do what everyone else does and look for your own style… So I will go for something less deep but more practical. Know very well the types of surfaces and paints or products you need for each one. You will save a lot of headaches later.

Do you have a reference in the Sneakers world? Without any doubt, Shoe Surgeon.

Can you tell us a celebrity who wears your clothes? Sergio Llull & Edy Tavares (R. Madrid Basketball players) Pedri (F.C. Barcelona football player) Trueno, Ceciarmy, Chuty.…

If someone wants to contact you to request information about your work, what is the most direct way of communication? The easiest and most direct way is Instagram.
