Safety data sheetWhy to care down articles?
Down articles are one of the most delicate and valuable garments for outdoor sports practitioners. It maintains the body temperature and warmth, trapping the air in the different filaments of the feathers.
To expose these articles on different occasions to rain, cold, dirt, rubbing and body oils, results in a loss of integral properties such as insulation, waterproofing and heat input. All of these situations can cause the down to get wet and clumped, losing all of its properties.
In extreme conditions, this can be a serious problem for the athlete, losing its insulating, breathable and increasing weight. These situations can cause cold and humidity to penetrate inside the article so that it can’t breathe, generating an increased presence of moisture.
The lack of information and specific products for the care of technical down garments, in many occasions causes these garments to be washed with unsuitable products which reduce their lifetime.
How to use
WASH
- Wash following wash care label instructions.
- Close all zips and velcro flaps, remove the parts that are not washable and make sure nothing is left inside the pockets of the garment.
- Clean out the washing machine detergent dispenser.
- Place the garment to be washed inside the washing machine. We recommend washing one or two garments per cycle.
- Shake the bottle and pour one full cap into the detergent dispenser, approximately 50 ml.
- We recommend adding an extra cap for large volume garments such sleeping bags, approximately 100 ml.
- Wash at 30°C or 86°F, using a complete cycle for delicate garments and a slow spin.
- For best results, we recommend drying the garment in the tumble dryer with a medium heat setting.
- Dry following care label instructions and with four clean tennis balls to avoid forming clumps of downs. The garment may need between 2 and 4 hours to dry completely.
- Check the entire garment and if you do not find any clumps in the fill, your garment is completely dry.
- Remove the garment carefully from the washing machine and squeeze it gently.
- Extend the garment in a well-ventilated place. (Never hang the garment)
- During the first day, squeeze the garment gently every hour.
- Two times per day redistribute the downs homogeneously.
- Repeat the process between 3 and 4 days, depending on the ambient temperature and the quantity of downs contained in the garment.
- If you do not feel any clumps inside the garment your down garment is completely dry.
WASH
- Wash following wash care label instructions.

- In a tub with warm water (At 30°C or 86°F approximately) immerse the item to be washed.
- Shake the bottle and pour one full cap into the tub, approximately 50 ml.
- We recommend adding an extra cap for large volume garments such sleeping bags, approximately 100 ml.
- Soak the garment in the water and the detergent and let stand for 15 minutes.
- Rinse the garment thoroughly with warm water, ensuring that no detergent remains in the article.
- Soak the garment again with the water and the detergent for 15 minutes and rinse again with warm water.
9. Drain the article to remove excess water that may remain inside.
- Remove the garment carefully from the tub and squeeze it gently.
- Extend the garment in a well-ventilated place. (Never hang the garment)
- During the first day, squeeze the garment gently every hour.
- Two times per day redistribute the downs homogeneously.
- Repeat the process between 3 and 4 days, depending on the ambient temperature and the quantity of downs contained in the garment.
- If you do not feel any clumps inside the garment your down garment is completely dry.
For best results, we recommend drying the product in a tumble dryer and reading the care label instructions before.
